The new TLC (Tool-less compression) RG-6 F compression connector is our simplest, fastest and lowest total cost solution for installing compression connectors. Designed to save the installer time, labor and cost when installing indoor RG-6 F-Type connections, no compression tool is required to terminate these connectors. The TLC connector is an indoor, cable specific F connector. It uses the industry standard 1/4 In. x 1/4 In. cable preparation. By eliminating the need to have a compression tool terminate the connector to the cable, the installer can work faster, keep track of fewer tools and not worry about tool and connector compatibility issues. The TLC series connectors feature a sliding, locking post design to capture and secure the cable inside of the connector. After the cable is inserted, tightening the connector to the device completes assembly process, creating a 360° compression point and a permanent connection. Unlike twist-on connectors that deform the cable jacket, the TLC goes on easy, does not require twisting and has the benefits of a traditional full radial compression connector that does not deform the cable from its designed round shape.
- TLC design means no compression tool is required to terminate connector
- 360 Degree cable retention with greater than 40 lbs. cable retention
- Recommended for indoor connections with RG-6 coaxial cable
- Plastic and nickel plated brass bodies
- Designed for 75 Ohm coaxial cables, frequency range: 0 MHz to 3 GHz
- Designed for use in all cable and satellite TV installations

i’ve been an electronics technician for decades, i remember we used to hand assemble and solder these coaxial connector ends [primarily BNC]. but for a light duty application, that’s overkill and these fill the bill. very easy to use and reliable, they work great. i bought and used 3 packages [12 pc] worth, without issue.

Just what I needed I would recommend.

Worked to restore existing Charter cable end connection, with extra effort and hand soap. The old cables had been decapitated and pushed thru the holes in the floor by ATT installer, which I left intact and drilled new holes, pushed the old Charter cables up and thru. Then I prepared the ends for Compression fittings,Using Grey Ideal TLC F-Connectors # 85-069. This cable measured .281 inch or 7.14 mm od, having two layers of foil, and I was told is called RG 6 Quad, It did not slip on but was slightly too tight. I used a drop of hand soap on the cable, wiping it away from the center copper wire, and a small half drop to the inside of the TLC F Connector. It would start on but then stop. I used an 11 mm. socket with a split washer on the wrench but between, to give a little extra space to provide more height to avoid bending the center copper wire, and pushed again, I read do not twist it on, and this worked. I could have used a larger purple connector #85-079 , as I was advised to do by Ron Kitter of Ideal customer service, but I didn’t want to drive back to the big city. Oh, I left the inner layer of foil but peeled off the outer layer of foil. I am glad Ideal makes these beautiful connectors which saved me from spending $60. for a nice compression tool.

Very pleased to find these. We were at our beach house and I needed to repair a RG6 cable feed but I hated to spend the big bucks for another connector tool that I have at home already. Just follow the directions for stripping using a common knife. Just remember to PUSH the connector over the wire (DON”T TWIST) and fan out the braided wire evenly around the cable . It is for indoor use only. Not waterproof. It will work outdoors but would fill up with water unless you can seal it.
Also, if you make a mistake pull it off and try again.

By far the worst coax connector I have ever used and will never buy again or recommend this product. I am not sure if I was doing something wrong or had a defective package of connectors, but not matter how much pressure I applied to the cable, it would not fully seat into the connector. I made sure both braids were folded back and tin between braids was removed, no luck. I also tried with folding back first set of braids only, no luck. I also placed the tip of the connector into a vice grip and placed as much of my body weight onto the cable pushing into the connector that I could without bending the canle, it did not seat fully. The only reason I gave this a one star is because its required.

What I liked was that it was easy to on on the cable wire.
