Eaton’s GFCI Duplex Receptacles are designed with the safety of the user in mind and are fully compliant with all the latest NEC code requirements. GFCIs provide state-of-the-art, dependable electrical shock protection, and conduct an automatic self-test periodically to ensure the integrity of GFCI protection. The devices incorporate a safety lock-out feature that protects against mis-wired line-load connections that can cause damage to the GFCI circuitry. In addition to being tested to the highest standards to help ensure safety, GFCIs will deny power and prevent re-setting if the device is no longer able to provide safe, protected power. Tamper resistant (TR) receptacles feature a built-in UL listed safety shutter system that prevents the insertion of foreign objects into the receptacle openings. The safety shutters will only open when a two-bladed plug presses simultaneously against the two shutters. Weather resistant (WR) GFCIs feature corrosion resistant hardware and UV resistant materials designed to withstand the elements.
- Slimmer design for easy installation, leaving more room for wires in the box
- Automatically self tests periodically to ensure GFCI protection
- Child-safety black tamper resistant shutters help prevent improper insertion of foreign objects
- GFCIs incorporate lock-out functionality to protect against mis‑wired line‑load connections and GFCI circuitry damage
- Nickel-plated stainless steel strap and screws for added corrosion resistance
- Wider button wells for easy TEST and RESET
- Intuitive LED status indicators for trip and end of life states
- Clean, modern industrial design with reduced top housing markings and neutral text direction on buttons
- Automatic grounding system eliminates need for bonding jumper in grounded metal enclosure, provides redundant measure of ground continuity where jumper is used

Very easy dyi part.

Great for outside outlets. Got this to replace the old style outlet and update the others downline to be with a ground fault circuit.

Easy to install with backwiring. Only giving 4 stars because I would prefer that it have a green LED to indicate it has power. Instead, the LED apparently indicates if/when if needs replacement.

Just what I needed

Replacing a GFCI should take just a few minutes. This Eaton GFCI has a couple of features that led me to want to consult installation instructions. Eaton does not bother to include installation instructions with the product, instead demanding that customers scan a QR code for installation instructions. Except the Eaton QR code simply leads to a page with hundreds of products; searching for this one leads to dead ends. Here on the site, the link for “Installation Manual” simply leads to a spec sheet. Once I switched power back on (the router is on the same circuit) to search on the computer, I was able eventually to find a generic telegraphic set of Eaton instructions. Corporate contempt for customers — I will never ever purchase another Eaton product.

It works great

Was broken out of the box. Didn’t work at all.

No instruction manual to install the outlet led to me having to rewire several times until I got it right.

My friend bought this and I installed it and it didn’t work. I have installed 1000’s of these without one problem. This particular application had wires going into it and then going out to other lights and receptacles which is an incorrect design. I am concerned about whether the two line tabs and two load tabs are interconnected with each other like other receptacles and that would actually be a question, how the internal parts are interconnected. Since we didn’t have that information and already wasted an hour on one GFCI, I decided it wasn’t worth the time or money to use these.

This product didn’t work and have to return to lowes

Don’t know anything about it, but was told to get it for blown GFI

I like the buttons on the new GFI. This outlet is nice but seems a little flimsy. The load input has been switched from the old GFI outlets. I guess it’s not just this product, but all GFI outlets. Had to install it twice because of that.
