The Pop-Out outlet provides a modern addition to your walls, avoiding those unsightly traditional outlets. The outlet features an additional plug (three total) over traditional outlets and with the simple push before/after use, the outlet pops-out/disappears into the wall. Thus far, we have had no issues and look forward to installing more throughout the house. We have this outlet at the far side of our kitchen where we keep/charge our electronics and smarthome base. Previously, we were maxxed out on the plugs in the outlet, and now we have an additional plug that we have been using. I wonder how we ever functioned without a third plug.
Installation time was minimal, about 10 minutes, which is typical of an outlet change. Prior to install, make sure you have a deep electrical box so you can properly fit the outlet and its wires. One word of caution: the outlet is only meant for indoor wall surfaces, so if you are hoping to install on a horizontal work surface, look elsewhere. Also, for those who want your outlet childproofed, I would look elsewhere if you plan to install these below counter height, as there does not appear to be a way to childproof this outlet. As my (past childproof age) children are fascinated by this outlet, I imagine little kids would be even more fascinated by the popping action.
I do not believe you can go wrong installing these outlets in your home. They will supply an additional plug at every outlet, as well as provide an updated and stylish complement to any room they adorn.

Extremely elegant, beauty, and easy to touch. It works perfectly being super delicate and different to any other

Love how useful this product is. The pop-out outlet allows you to plug 3 cords into this outlet, but best of all, when nothing is plugged in, the pushed in outlet presents a clean, sophisticated look. Great for use in bathrooms and kitchens and other places where frequently un-used outlets are the rule rather than the exception.

Our builders installed many of this in our kitchen, but when it pops out, it doesn’t leave enough space for type B plug with three prongs as there is no enough head space. in addition, usually one prong is longer than the other, so when I tried to reverse it, there is no enough space for the head. and even if you try the bottom holes, there is no enough head space either. it’s a very dumb and limited design that is only good for the vertical plugs. come on, design a different one with longer space once it pops out.

I’m renovating a 60+ year old house and for some reason they installed an outlet 3′ up the wall where my kitchen table sits. I was going to remove it but discovered it was quite handy when I wanted to use electrical appliances on the table. It wasn’t very attractive and I worried about the grandkids and their inquisitive ways, so I bought the Legrand pop-out outlet. I did discover afterwards that it requires a very deep work box, so I had to replace the old box with a new one. Once that was done it was a snap putting in the new outlet. I am absolutely a novice when it comes to DIY projects around the house, but I thought I’d give this a try. I read the instructions (several times) and also referenced the video on the Legrand website. The entire process took less than 30 minutes and the results are amazing. Even my electrician (who’s doing the more serious work) was impressed with the product and my budding DIY skills. It’s also quite the conversation piece when guests come to visit. One word of advice: it’s wise to consult with a salesperson in the store to be sure you purchase everything you need to install both the outlet and the cover plate.

This is brilliant! Love the clean look and functionality. Definitely make sure it fits…needs a deeper box so sadly can’t easily retrofit a lot of older outlets. Please release one with Usb ports!

Easy installation and I couldn’t be happier with this outlet

First, the good things. Once installed, the outlet looks great. I replaced existing side outlets on a kitchen island, and they are so much better looking than the old ‘normal’ outlets. The pop out mechanism works as advertised, and we really like having the third outlet.
Now the ‘not so good things’. Not bad things, just not so good. First, installation was a nightmare. These are HUGE and don’t fit in standard metal 1 gang boxes that sells and was already installed in the island. Even the standard plastic ones are too small. I had to buy extended plastic boxes, which I don’t like because they are flimsy. Plus, because it’s a kitchen island install, we are required to use metal conduit to protect the wires, meaning drilling holes in the plastic. Not a big deal .. until install time comes around. There is very little room even in the extended boxes for two conduit connectors, the wires, ground wire nut, and the outlet. I had to use metal crimp ground connectors instead of the wire nut. Even then it was difficult getting the outlet situated past the conduit ends.
I’m a little nervous about the actual pop-out, especially in a plastic existing-construction box that isn’t solidly nailed down, but held by wings against the sidewall. There is a bit of torque when plugging in and taking the plug out. I’ve asked my wife to support the outlet with her hand when using it because of it. I might go back and run some better supports around the box so I can nail it down.
All that being said, if they hold up I do think they are worth the trouble. It took me over two hours to get the first one installed because of all of the issues (this doesn’t include going back to to get the plastic boxes.) The second one only took a half hour, but the package claims ‘easy installation’. But they do look great, and add an extra outlet.
I would buy them again.

Very nice looking outlets. Customer wanted these installed in their apartment and when we installed they look amazing. Contemporary. Looking.

This outlet is the best looking I’ve installed!!! Installation for this outlet and other Legrand adorne electrical devices is much easier and seems to have a bit more protection compared to other conventional outlets because the screws for the wires sit flush so there’s less area where a ground wire can interfere and cause a breaker to trip. One more pro for this outlet is that it adds an additional third plug to the one gang box.

Needed an under the counter outlet and everything was so bulky. This is perfect. Mounted in cabinet and just pop out when I need to brew some coffee and back in for the rest of the day. What a solve!

I have no problem with the item as listed, just be aware it does not work with other Legrand Square items such as switches, dimmers or plugs. We wanted two dimmers and this outlet in a three switch plate supplied by Legrand. This item ONLY fits the switch plate supplied, it is engineered to ONLY fit this plate. This is confusing since you have this family of square switches/dimmers/plugs all in one area and this one is not like the others.
But, it is kind of cool for high visibility areas that are little used to have a pop-out switch. The cool factor is there…

-1 for being made in China. For $45 for an outlet, you can afford to employ our neighbors and manufacture with our environmental standards.
After ordering, it turned out that didn’t have any and didn’t know when or if they’d get more. Supply issues come up, especially when the company’s outsourced their innovations and core competency halfway across the world to undercut our labor and environmental laws. -1
The outlet has three plugs in. It’s not that difficult to install, just make sure you have as deep a box as possible and not a bunch of terminations or other wires inside. Longevity remains to be seen, but I’d put these on the most-seen / least-used places.

Countertop pop up outlet. We purchased this model due to the sleek look and durability. The pop up outlet is easy to push and release and is less clunky than other types of concealed outlets. One downside is that it doesn’t have a USB c or USB outlet, but the design and other benefits outweighed that miss.

I love clean lines and nothing irritates me more than trying to “cover up” electrical outlets that are not in use. I also dislike plugs that stick out of outlets an inch or so. Furniture cannot be put up against the wall without making room for the bulky plugs. I’ve been buying flat plug extension cords but then I have the long cords to deal with.
I love the Pop-Out Outlet! The installation was simple and the simplistic style fits in so well with backsplashes and walls. When needed,, simple push the square in the middle of the plate and the outlets “pop” out. No need to lose any more room to accommodate the plugs and cords that are plugged into normal outlets, other than the space required for the popped out outlet.
Can’t wait to install more throughout the house!

Once it was installed I really liked the look of the pop out outlet. THe installation was a tad trickier than the usual standard outlet which is to be expected but I youtubed it and got through it without an electrician. The lines of the outlet and cover are great and the pop out seemes to work well. My only critique is that my different sized plugs don’t all work with it. I needed to plug in an extension cord to run a shop vac where a leak had happened and it didn’t pop out far enough to accomodate.

I just got them installed and I have to say, I am a little disappointed. I was expecting this to be more flushed and seamless with our island, but after installing it, it actually is not flush due to this additional backing and the contrast of the black backing calls out attention to it. I like the idea of the plug being hidden, but thought it was designed to be more flush (flat) against the surface so it doesn’t call attention to it. If that is what you are looking for, i would make sure you are ok with the thickness before making the purchase.

This outlet is so functional and stylish. I love the clean minimal look when it is flush. It really de-clutters and modernizes the look of a space. Plus the added functionality of having a 3rd outlet is huge! I wish I could swap out every outlet in my house with these. The only thing I would suggest to improve it is to make it a GFCI outlet…at first I thought this wouldn’t work in a kitchen or bathroom because of that, but I recently found out that you only need at least 1 GFCI outlet on any given circuit, so I was happy to be able to install it in my bathroom! Now it looks great when not in use, but my wife can still plug in her hair dryer and curling iron while I am charging my electric toothbrush or electric razor.

Incredibly convenient and efficient!
I’m thrilled to share my experience with the Adorne/Legrand electric cover, which I recently acquired for a project. From the moment I installed it, this electric cover always adds a nice touch to my work.
