Some of these units were shipped with incorrect labeling on the back of the jack. Please check the wiring diagram on the back of the jack and the bag. If they are different, use the wiring diagram off the bag. The units work well as expected. Be aware these jacks are not be compatible with faceplates from Commercial Electric(Home Depot).

I have a 12 gang CAT5E face plate. (Pre-wired smart home). I tried another brand, but they were just too big to use in this close quarters situation.
I’m very happy with the quality and compact size. The only thing I was surprised about was they don’t come with the wire push-pin tool to fully seat the wires. Luckily, I had 3 of them on hand. If you don’t have one, look around the display to see if they sell them separately.

The cable termination was very easy to install. Hardest part was preparation g the individual conductors. I used forceps to keep the conductors separated and oraganized while installing the termination.

The directions for which color wire goes where are impossible to interpret. Not only that, the directions on the package seem to disagree with the markings on the jack itself. I went to LeGrand’s website for instructions and it looks like everyone who has ever bought these has the same issue. . . And, their attempt to verbally explain how to interpret the markings on the jack are even more confusing. One would think that they could simply include a photo or drawing indicating which color goes to which punch down post for T568A and which color goes where for T568B. If I could rate this with zero stars, I would.

Wasted two days with these before I realized that there were multiple conflicting wiring diagrams between the package, the product itself, the website, and the manufacturer’s website. Avoid. I’d give it a zero if that were an option.

These wall jacks make it super easy to terminate your Cat 5e lines at the wall. Each one is well marked as to which color wires go where. Grab a plastic punch down tool (they are super cheap) and you are all set. All my connections were easy and fast to complete and they all worked the first time. Doesn’t come with the punch down tool or I would give it a 5 star.

Product works great, especially when used with Legrand Quick Connect Tool (item# 728092). BUT, **WARNING** Had to Rewire both of my wall jacks because I used diagram on Package. Package Diagram is INCORRECT!! (see photo) I switched to diagram on actual part and everything worked fine with tester. (Wasted a LOT of time trying to figure out Why this jack would not work as I had been very careful to use the diagram on the packaging.) Another review below states just the Opposite: “package diagram is correct, do not use diagram on part”. Not sure if they are confused or if that was a Separate issue with this product! Still Not Corrected! Calling Legrand Customer Service to let them know.

The Legrand Ethernet wall jack is very easy to use with their one-shot punch-down tool. Unfortunately, I spent as much time researching which conductor goes to which jack connector as I did crimping and testing four cables. The package gives one pin-out, but the labeling on the actual jack gives another. I ended up using the pin-out on the outside of the package, and this tested all right. The Legrand website was no help; the page that offered assistance was merely a recitation of the Legrand product line. If it hadn’t been for the confusion caused by the poor documentation, I’d give these 5 stars.

These work fine, but are not my favorite jacks. The punch down pins are located on the rear, which could be convenient to change cabling with the jack in a wall plate. BUT, the labels identifying wire colors are located down between the rows of punch downs, and the printing is incredibly tiny. Makes it hard to see the color codes after you have a couple pairs in place. Otherwise they are fine.

I haven’t used my Cat5e jacks yet, but based on my experience with the Cat6 version, I feel I can safely assume it will work well. This review is being written on equipment connected through a Legrand Cat6 jack. It installed easily and works great. The completed in-wall cable signal-tested to better than Catagory 6, even though the jack is installed on an existing Cat5 solid-wire cable with only Cat5 termination at the other end. (This seems to confirm my experience that holding twist properly into all terminations does make a difference, and these jacks seem to make that easy to do.) Suggestion: also get the Legrand punch-down pliers for these jacks – they weren’t that expensive, and they made terminations so far both easy and reliable.

We were working at an off-site location, and needed a few telecom parts. Fortunately carried some supplies like these jacks. Note that a special connect tool is needed to terminate the wires. Some manufacturers offer a small plastic connect tool with their jack kits, but Legrand does not. the product worked well though.

I just installed and they seem to be a good quality. Time will tell to see how they hold up over time?
