I got these for my first try at making my own. I fought with them for hours and thought I was doing it wrong or missing something. Then when I looked it up on here and found out they don’t work with quad shield witch is what I had. That info should be on the package.

I bought these for waterproof connections and I see one blue o-ring on the outer barrel, just where is the second one and I have used a flashlight to look into the inner barrel.

I purchased a 10 pack of these connectors to install on a run of Belden 1189A quad shielded RG6 coaxial cable to replace an old run of RG59 cable to my rooftop FM radio antenna.
I was disappointed when I discovered that the connector would not seat properly on the prepared RG6 cable. Klein’s listing says that this connector is compatible with “most” RG6 cables. What the listing doesn’t say explicitly is that it cannot be used with quad shielded RG6. The only clue is that the listing only specifies RG6 and omits RG6Q. Thus these connectors can only be used with bi and tri shielded RG6 coaxial cable.
The connector appears to be built as well as its non weatherproof counterpart. It should hold up well when paired with bi or tri shielded black jacketed RG6. Hopefully Klein Tools will specifically mention the incompatibility with quad RG6 cable at some point.
