Purchased this wall jack having read the numerous reviews saying the wiring diagram on the packaging is incorrect (which it is). There’s a small diagram printed on the connector itself that I followed (specifically the T568-B scheme) which worked the first time. Just be sure to use a punch out tool to fully seat the colored pairs (doesn’t need to be the On-Q AC3400 unit, though I’m sure that would make the task even quicker!). Start to finish the whole thing took me about ten minutes and it was my first time doing this. Great product…just ignore the diagram on the bag/packaging.

Good fit and finish, does require a special tool to install. I had to improvise, wish it was more obvious when I purchased it.

Why did they stop including a punch down tool. Instead the packaging tells you to buy their auto punch down tool that you’ll use a few times in your life. Also the manual linked here is not a manual it’s a catalog and I need the Pinout diagram. Thanks Lowe’s!

Using a standard 110 punch tool is a recipe for a bad time. Pony up for their crimping tool, or be prepared to re-punch each jack multiple times.

Bought 4 and had to re-punch every one repeatedly for them to work. I worked in the field for several years and never had this problem. And yes, I used a standard punch tool which has served me well with many brands. I refuse to spend the money on a single purpose tool just to punch down 4 jacks. I’m taking them back even though they’re working now. I’ll forever be considering them as the source of any future network issues that may come up.

We bought two Cat5e jacks because they would allow us to modify RJ11 phone jacks we weren’t using to be easily modified to become RJ45 ethernet jacks. We needed to the RJ45 jacks to plug in smart TVs.
