Cat 5e 8P8C (eight position/eight contact) modular plug connectors which support TIA/EIA standards for twisted pair cabling up to 100 MHz. Plugs are designed and manufactured to support all 100 Ohm cable wiring schemes including the widely used TIA-568A and TIA-568B configurations. Ideal modular plugs are manufactured to strict industry standards and tolerances that utilize traditional preparation and termination methods. These proven and preferred methods allow for improved compatibility among manufacturers and devices around the world without the need for special tooling or preparation methods.
- 8-Position, 8-contact RJ-45 modular plug for Cat 5e, 100 Ohm balanced twisted pair 100 MHz cables
- 50 micro-inch gold plating on contact mating area for long term reliability in connectivity, even after hundreds of mating cycles
- Designed to work seamlessly with IDEAL’s Telemaster crimping tools, also compatible with industry standard modular plug crimping tools meeting specifications
- 3-Prong contact design for use with solid or stranded 24-26 AWG insulated copper conductors, maximum conductor diameter of 0.042 in./1.07 mm, maximum recommended cable outer jacket diameter 0.175 in./4.5 mm
- Permanent connection – once crimped they cannot be reused
- Primary and secondary strain relief supports to retain cable jacket and minimize conductor movement once crimped
- Non-feed through design to prevent external conductor/device shorting and RF signal leakage

Ideal has always been the best. I must admit I was buying these because my 30 year old stash had become cloudy and I couldn’t see through them very well, lol. FYI – I still use the cloudy ones and the work fine, just have to test cables I make with them prior to use.

I have used 1000’s of these and they just work. The build quality is the best and the clips actually stay clipped in. I’ve yet to have a bad one. I tried going with cheaper alternatives but they are junk.

These are some of the easiest connectors I’ve used. The wires slipped right in, didn’t cross or bind and seated first try. Crimped well and made good connections. Better than a lot of ends I’ve used over the years.

Our local store has made a big deal about in-store pickup of on-line orders, including reserved parking spaces and a section inside the store dedicated to order pickup. So I thought I’d give it a try to see how it all works. On a Saturday morning, I ordered these IDEAL RJ45 ends on-line to be picked up by me later that same day. I had many things to do, so I went about my business, waiting nearly 3 hours for the order to be prepared. I received no order updates in that time, but I figured after 3 hours, the order for this one item should be more than ready for me to pick up. I drove to our local and stood at the order pickup counter for a minute or two for someone to show up. This nice lady showed up and asked me for my order number. After about a minute, she finally found the order and mentioned that the item had not been retrieved and the order was not yet finished. I offered to go get the item, because I knew exactly where they are in the store, but I wanted to try out the on-line order in-store pickup. She said she’d go get it, so I waited another 2-3 minutes for her to retrieve the item. Once she returned, it took her another 3 minutes for her to finalize the order so I could sign the order papers and take my item. All-in-all, the in-store pickup took me longer than it would’ve normally taken for me to go and buy the item as I normally would. Our local seems to have a ways to go before this system will actually save customers time. Which, I would assume, is the whole purpose of the in-store pickup, isn’t it?

These are great quality. They slide on very easily and the channel for wires are right on. Used these for project at church and used 10 of them and they all were correct on the first try. No redos. I would recommend them to everybody.

Works well with Cat5e and Cat6. Have used ideal brand networking equipment quite a bit and are good quality.

I am so glad that carries these. When I asked the guy in the area, he didn’t think you carried them. We looked for them together and didn’t find them. I was so bummed because that meant that I would either have to hunt them down at another store (good luck with that in Franklin, IN) or order them online and put mu project on hold. I decided go go back to the aisle one last time before I headed to checkout and as if God himself had smiled down on of Franklin (and me) there they were! They weren’t even a foot away from where we had looked. I was so excited that I tried to hunt the guy down to show him where they were but he must’ve taken a break because he was nowhere to be found. The moral of the story here is if you want it bad enough, has it! I just love happy endings; don’t you? By the way the RJ45 connectors work great!

These work great for making your own LAN cables. You just need to have a compatible crimping tool. I use an Ideal model 33-396 crimp tool on these RJ-45 plugs and have never had a problem.

You can rely on these connectors. They will last forever. The gold plated ends ensure low resistance and after using all 25 I did not have one fail or one bad jack in the entire pack like other vendors. I have been using them in my laptop every day and the ends have stayed in good shape and don’t seem to wear out from the constant flexing. If you are cabling an office or just making patch cables and you need really good jacks you can rely on this is what you want. You can get boots for the cables but if you cut the wires correctly you can securely fasten the cable into the jack without the boot. Don’t waste money on cheap connectors. Do the job once and do it right. These jacks are “IDEAL” for any job large or small.

For those working in the field on any IT related project this is a great option. East to install and reliable. They don’t break under moderate stress.
