CAT 6 Feed-Thru connectors are single piece connectors that use the same assembly process, no special assembly or multiple pieces for CAT 6. Open-end Feed-Thru connectors offer several advantages over standard closed end connectors. Conductor order can be verified prior to crimping. Conductors that Feed-Thru the connector are inserted far enough to be pierced by the pin below. The cable can be pushed or pulled into the connector to ensure that the twisted pairs are as close to the pin contacts as possible and that the jacket is seated beyond the primary strain relief for a secure connection. A patent pending design enables conductors to be cut flush with the end face of the connector when used with the FT-45 tool.
- Conductors trimmed to the correct length by the tool – no measuring
- Eliminates wasted connectors due to incorrect assembly
- Verify conductor order before crimping
- Single piece design
- Feed-thru modular plugs simplify twisted pair assembly process
- Pair twists maintained within 1/4 in of contact
- 3 Pin IDC contact, 50 gold plated over 150 nickel, secured in place – no loose pins in the package
- Conductors fully seated above pin contact, no opens due to a short/misaligned conductor

Gotta Love these Pass-Though connectors. All those lost hours and days under desks with readers and flashlights, sorting conductors, making them short enough, clamping. So much easier now with these old eyes, sliding these connectors on, checking my color codes, clamp.& chop..!

The wire had to be pushed into the previous Cat-6 plugs, and it was often difficult to get it far enough in to meet the specification. With these plugs, the wire can be pulled in which is much easier. Although, because the guidance for the wires is less strict due to the fact the wires are in a single row, the diameter of the insulation must be sufficient to fill the space so that the wires cannot shift to the side and miss the electrical connection. I also like the fact that the pins have three sharp points instead of two blunt ones – which can push the wire sideways.

I have used Ideal RJ-45 modular plugs for a long time, and while the product quality was solid, previous designs were either too complicated or time-consuming. Once I had a chance to try these Feed-Thru plugs I was hooked! Soooo relatively easy! And if you don’t want to pop for their special tool, just use any good RJ-45 crimp tool and cut the excess conductors off with some snips. For a more accurate trim of the conductors, I have had much success with toe-nail clippers. Couldn’t be easier.

This product is very poor quality and do not snap into standard ethernet ports on network devices. I can make these cables in my sleep but they don’t “snap” into the port like they should. They just stick in there and will fall out at the slightest tug. I used a razorblade to trim the wires flush with the tip of the plug so this is a design flaw.

Good product

The struggle was real. Maybe it’s not the jack but the wire. The Wore I used would not fit into this jac. Had to go back and buy pass thru’s but the wire barely fit into it as well.

A bit difficult to get correct wires in in roper locations within plug. But once that was accomplished, crimped plug onto Cat 6 cable and everything works great!! Have strong wired connection between router and my internet devices. Very pleased!!

This is a great product simply because the wiring will push through the plug allowing to adjust the wiring to cut and crimp the sleeve.

I have always hated making a cat 5 or cat 6 wire and I used to always get the pre fab wires to use because I would waste so many connectors because I messed them up. These feed through modular connectors are great I had no problem using these.

they were too large for my bulk cat6 (stranded) with no wire management upon insertion. Where as Cat5e plugs fit just fine and guided the wires into their proper locations snugly.

I have been making CAT cables since 2000 when I was a network admin. These pass throughs are the worst product and I do not recommend. I have tried the Ideal crimper and another brand. I test my cables and the orange pair always fails. It takes time and when you only have so much cable length in the wall, losing three inches of cable for each failure is not good.

The push through connector works really great when making ends for RJ45 connectors and it allows you to check the wire color order before crimping the connector

Just perfect works great!

sucks so bad! Worst customer service ever

I loved the idea of a pass-thru connector that trims the wires! How ever these connectors will not fit in any of my devices. Not my cameras, not my hubs, not my routers. Everything on line said they should work, but that has not been my experience. It would be best if you tried one in a hub, camera or router before you buy a bunch of plugs you won’t be able to use.

Connector work well

Great product. Works well with cat 6 cable. Only problem i had is i don’t have the recommended tool, so i had to crimp it a little different. It works great.

These ends do what they say, make it easy to wire up patch cables. It has been years since I have made cables, so when I recently moved and needed to make new cables I bought these ends and the associated crimper. Together they make the process easier than the old non-passthru ones. The wiring color diagram that comes with the ends is also the easiest to understand.
Great product!

These connectors work great with 23AWG solid copper Cat6 cable. The feed-through is great for verifying proper wiring before crimping. Great time saver too. Also like the fact that I can get the ‘twist’ very close to the contacts to help eliminate crosstalk and NeXT.
The Ideal Module Crimp Tool(Model # 30-495) is a must, and makes it very easy.
All my cables certified with no problems!

As described. Have the thicker 23 gauge wires and it worked. I understand this is a problem for many RJ 45 plugs

These are RJ45 pass thru plugs which it doesn’t say that anywhere in the ad. These plugs are a possible fire jazzers when used in a Power Over Ethernet switch. No Gu….

I purchased these plugs to use on TrueCable CAT6 Shielded cable (solid wire). I found that these connectors have a track to guide the wire through but were difficult to get all the wires in the correct spot. After e-mailing the company (specifically Ron Kipper), they (he) recommended a different product number that is specifically designed for shielded cable (25-pack, shielded feed-thru, #85-368). These worked without issue. Since I did not feel right returning a used product, I took the used connector from this package (#85-375) and used it on an old CAT5 with a broken plug. It was easy to put the CAT5 wire into the correct order and crimp it. I now have a cable that was garbage and is now useable (connector clicks into place, signal is strong, and is able to be removed as easily). The best thing is the customer service. Ron Kipper took the time to understand the problem, offer a solution, and “make it right”. With so many companies turning to making the quick sale, it is refreshing to come across a company that still values customer service. Ideal Industries will be the first brand I will buy for my electrical needs.
