Traditionally used in landline telephone applications, these IDC splice connectors can be used to splice or repair damaged low voltage conductors in voice and data applications. The IDEAL yellow IDC connectors resist moisture to help prevent corrosion. These telephone connectors are designed for use on solid copper conductors.
- Used for repairing broken wires and for adding an additional wire to an existing circuit
- Gel-filled butt splicing connector for a 2-wire applications
- Quick, easy 1-step splicing – insert unstripped conductors and crimp
- Permanent connection- once crimped they cannot be reused
- Maximum insulated O.D. of 0.060 in. (1.52 mm)
- Wire range 22-26 AWG
- 2-Wire yellow IDC butt splices jellybean connector

I use these whenever I can get away with it. They are wicked easy to use, and are filled with dielectric grease to keep moisture from splices. The also get a good connection without stripping, so there is nealy no chance of exposed conductors.

I love the idea of this connector….It says it’s for 22 AWG wire. my wire for the garage sensor is 22/2 . it didn’t fit…so I carefully shaved cable covering and was able to fit it in…closed easily with pliers. Maybe make holes slightly bigger?

These “weatherproof” squeeze splices are Just The Ticket for quick splicing of solid and stranded telephone/network wires. As long as the wire gauge is LESS than #20, these splices will join them and Do It Very Well. To ensure a secure electrical splicing, ensure each wire end “bottoms out” in the splice before squeezing it shut.
NOTE: stranded wire MAY need pre-stripping if the insulation won’t enter the splice. If stripping is necessary, only remove 1/2″ of insulation, make the splice, then cover any exposed wire with “liquid electrical tape” (or similar) to prevent corrosion.

Telephone wires are thin, difficult to manipulate, and difficult to strip. These connectors do not require pre-stripping the wires–just snip them clean, stick one in each hole, and pinch the connector with the round tips of your crimping tool. You’ll feel a positive click, and the connection is made. Easy peasy.
