Was able to come to to purchase these to connect my cameras and not have to go all the way to Louisville to a camera place to just get these connectors.

Bought these to repair a Control Net cabling issue. While the package might say RG6 Quad, it would not fit on our cable. I am unsure of the name brand of the cable but the insulation is fairly thick, with 2 braided shields and 2 foil wrappers. The connector just would not seat more than approximately 1/8″ after it touched the insulation # yes the wires were stripped to the correct lengths prior to trying to install the connector#. No amount of coercing could get it to budge after that. While I love the Ideal line of compression connectors, unfortunately these ones just would not work. As others have stated, you do indeed need a compression tool specifically designed for these and other long connectors. The standard F connector tools don’t have adequate room to put this connector in it to squeeze it shut, they are approximately 3/16″-1/4″ longer than what it will allow even fully backed off. While some tools might work, I would definitely double check them prior to purchasing. I own three and it would not work in either one I have. The package recommends the Ideal crimper #can’t remember part## to use. The clear window to see the fit is fantastic though.

What didn’t slip off ended up not connecting.
I ended up having to chuck 2 box of mostly bad connectors. That’s over $20 i’ll never see again.

I bought some of these because i was in a pinch and probably 30% of them came right off the cable after installed.

Using these connectors to install my home video surveillance system. Easy to install. Requires IDEAL BRAND crimp-er I used the IDEAL 6″ Compression Tool, Also recommend the IDEAL Video Coaxial Stripper. Use the stripper, install the connector, use the crimper and works first time every time. Easy to use on top of ladder, Very heavy duty and reliable.

I really like the ability to see that it’s fully seated, they work well and hold great.

I was unable to compress the fitting to get it to work. My old hands cannot grip onto the small pieces to push. Worker who assisted me and picked out what I needed, should have been able to see I am an older woman who would not be able to use this product.
